Government prepares to approve resolution on reservation of policemen and rescuers - Venislavsky

Soon the government should approve a resolution that will provide for the reservation of policemen and rescuers. This was stated by Fedir Venislavsky, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, on Radio Liberty.

“Just like police officers, rescuers must be 100% booked. And this is the competence and responsibility of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine... I think that rescuers, in terms of legislative regulation and in terms of the tasks they perform, ensure the functioning of the state and rescue people. So I don't think there will be any attempts to mobilize them.”

Venislavsky added that if the issue of removing the reservation from police officers and rescuers arises, it can be discussed in the committee, but, according to him, “the general concept of national security and defense covers the activities and maintenance of law and order and security of Ukrainian citizens, which is ensured by the relevant services,” so people in these professions should be reserved.

As a reminder, the police were deprived of a deferral from mobilization, but under the new law, they were granted reservation. Rescuers, on the other hand, were deprived of their reservation.
