Rada rejects draft law on fines for curfew violations

On May 22, the Verkhovna Rada failed in the second reading of draft law No. 10195 on administrative responsibility for violating the curfew. Only 190 MPs voted in favor, said MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

The return of the document for reconsideration also failed to get the required number of votes - only 216.

The law is considered rejected in its entirety.

The document proposed last year stipulated that fines for curfew violators would range from 8,500 to 17,000 hryvnias, and double that in case of repeated violations. For businesses, fines were envisaged in the amount of UAH 51,000 to 102,000, and for repeated violations - from UAH 170,000 to 340,000.

The Rada adopted the draft law in the first reading in December 2023.
