The Verkhovna Rada has passed a law to increase the number of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine by 15,000 servicemen. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.
According to him, 327 MPs supported the government bill No. 11091.
According to Zheleznyak, the total number of the State Border Guard Service during martial law and a year after its end will be up to 75 thousand people, including 67 thousand military personnel.
Presumably, the Ukrainian authorities are preparing to strengthen border guard patrols before the summer, when the warming and the new law on mobilization may increase the number of people willing to cross the border illegally.
