The Cabinet of Ministers will consider forced seizure of Russian assets

Today, the Cabinet of Ministers will consider a decision on the forced seizure of property owned by the Russian Federation and its residents in Ukraine. This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.


The list of property rights (corporate rights and integrated property complexes of the Russian Federation and its residents) subject to compulsory seizure includes shares of:

 

JSC Yuzhniygiprogaz, 40% of which is owned by Russian Gazprom;

PJSC "Kramatorsk Cement Plant - Garmata" (owners of shares are Sberbank of Russia and SIB (Cyprus) Limited);

Inter-Republican Association of Business, Scientific and Technical Cooperation of Gas Companies (State Unitary Enterprise "Mosgaz");

JSC Ukrainian Power Machines, formerly Turboatom, one of the largest turbine-building enterprises in the world (shareholders are Sberbank of Russia and SIB (Cyprus) Limited);

PJSC "Luhanskteplovoz";

Halychpharm JSC.


Zheleznyak added that, as can be seen from the accompanying documents, Kryukiv Carriage Plant PJSC and Brocard-Ukraine LLC were removed from the list, but Industrial Union of Donbas, Alchevsk Iron and Steel Plant PJSC, and Dnipro Iron and Steel Plant PJSC were added.


The law authorizing the nationalization was passed by the Verkhovna Rada on March 3, 2022, and signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky on March 10. According to the law, nationalization of Russian property is carried out without any compensation or reimbursement of the value. The decision on the forced seizure of Russian property in Ukraine is made by the National Security and Defense Council upon the proposal of the Cabinet of Ministers.
