The State Bureau of Investigation is considering 4 versions of the death of Major Gennadiy Chastyakov, the assistant to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, and the priority is an accident. This was reported by Tetiana Sapian, Strategic Communications Advisor to the State Bureau of Investigation, during a national telethon.
The criminal investigation is considering four possible versions of the events. The main version points to an accident caused by careless handling of an explosive device.
The second version, which is also being considered, points to a possible premeditated murder or a completed attempt on the life of Gennadiy Chastyakov's family members, which could be disguised as an unintentional murder or an accident organized by Russia's special services to destabilize the military and political situation in Ukraine.
The third version considers the possible premeditated murder of Gennadiy Chastyakov against the backdrop of conflictual relations, including possible revenge or jealousy on the part of colleagues.
The fourth version indicates an attempt to commit an attempted murder of another military serviceman, a senior officer of the staff of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, other than Gennadiy Chastyakov.
It is noted that the main version is a tragic accident. A number of examinations have also been scheduled as part of the case.
Tetiana Sapian emphasized that this is a criminal investigation that is under the special control of the SBI leadership.
