The cost of the Israeli government's military operation in the Gaza Strip will reach $48 billion. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to data from the consulting company Leader Capital Market.
According to the report, the conflict "will cost the country's budget about 180 billion shekels ($48 billion) in 2023-2024". At the same time, Israel "will bear two-thirds of the total cost, while the United States will pay the rest."
Bloomberg specifies, citing data from the Jewish state's Ministry of Finance, that the continuation of hostilities costs the country's budget $270 million a day.
"We are moving in accordance with the basic scenario, which provides for several months of fighting. We are fully capable of financing the State of Israel even in more extreme situations than the current conflict," Yali Rotenberg, chief accountant of the Israeli Ministry of Finance, said in an interview with the agency.
