The European Commission expects to be ready in the coming weeks to provide framework conditions for negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union. This was stated at a briefing by European Commission speaker Ana Pisonero.
"I can't be more specific about the timeframe (for the preparation of the framework conditions - ed.), but the work on preparing the negotiation framework is progressing. There is reason to believe that we should be ready to present them to the member states in the coming weeks, we hope," Pisonero said.
She also responded to statements by politicians about special conditions for Ukraine on its way to EU membership, emphasizing that no preferences or reductions are foreseen in the enlargement process.
Pisonero noted Ukraine's impressive progress, noting that the country has achieved significant results even in the difficult conditions of war.
She also emphasized that the Ukrainian parliament continues to work and implement reforms, which contributes to the country's further development.
