EU rejects Financial Times information about threat to Hungary due to Viktor Orban's veto

The European Union has not confirmed the Financial Times' report that it is developing a plan to undermine Hungary's economy if Prime Minister Viktor Orban vetoes the allocation of 50 billion euros in funding to Ukraine. This was reported by the Interfax-Ukraine.

"This is a factual document that does not reflect the status of the ongoing negotiations on the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework between representatives of EU member states and at the level of EU leaders. The note does not describe any specific plan concerning the MFF and the Ukrainian Fund, nor does it set out any plan concerning Hungary," the publication said.

According to the official, negotiations on the MFF are ongoing and "have always been based on finding a compromise acceptable to all 27 EU member states."
