If we allow Ukraine to strike at Russia with Western weapons, there will be strong consequences from Moscow, - Orban

Strikes on Russian territory with Western weapons threaten a strong reaction from Moscow. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Giornale.

“If we allow Ukraine to strike at Russia with weapons that Italy also supplies, there will be consequences with a strong Russian reaction, and the risk of NATO intervention will be one a step away,” Orban said.

He believes that the EU is playing with fire and does not realize it.

“The EU's strategy is also tactically unsuccessful, we do not realize that we are playing with fire. The idea of the European Union was born on the basis of a peace project; after the Second World War, Europe realized that it would not survive another war. We should ask ourselves what Europe's strategic interests are and call for a ceasefire. All this is wrong, and public opinion wants peace, not war,” the politician said.

He noted that the European Union is at a crossroads: “either to isolate the conflict and find a diplomatic way, or to go deeper into war.”
