Shufrych dismissed from the post of chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech

The Committee on Freedom of Speech of the Verkhovna Rada has decided to dismiss People's Deputy Nestor Shufrych from the post of chairman of the committee. This was reported by People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.

The decision was supported by 258 People's Deputies, and Shufrych remains one of the three members of the Committee. He cannot be deprived of his membership, as the Committee itself needs at least three people to exist.

People's deputy Yevhen Brahar will become the acting head of the Committee. However, next week it is planned to propose a candidate for a permanent head, possibly People's deputy Pavlo Bakunts from the "Dovira" group.

Earlier, we reported that people's deputies plan to deprive Nestor Shufrych, who is suspected of treason, of the post of chairman of the parliamentary committee on freedom of speech. This is stated in a draft resolution registered in the Verkhovna Rada on September 19.
