Venislavsky: Economic reservation is being considered in the Rada, but its adoption is not guaranteed

The Verkhovna Rada has not abandoned the idea of economic reservation, but cannot guarantee that it will be adopted. This was stated by Fedir Venislavsky, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, in an interview.

"The issue of economic reservation is being considered. It is relevant from the point of view of many representatives of the executive power, but there are no algorithms that have already been developed that would allow us to say that it will be introduced. This is a very sensitive issue, it has many consequences,” Venislavsky said.

According to him, this mechanism raises complex moral and legal issues, so it is unlikely that its adoption can be expected in the short term.

"For example, as I have said many times, I think it may not comply with the Constitution of Ukraine because the principle of equality will be violated. Our colleagues from the Economic Development Committee believe that this is necessary because the economy needs support. And by introducing economic reservation, we will give an incentive for economic development, which, in turn, will ensure tax revenues for which we will buy weapons, pay salaries and financial support to our military. This issue is very complicated and ambiguous, but I cannot say that I have any ideas on how to solve it,” Venislavsky said.
