The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is working on the issue of evacuating Ukrainians who have found themselves in the war zone in Sudan - there is already a list of those willing to leave the country, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko said on Facebook.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is keeping the issue of the security of Ukrainian citizens in Sudan under special control. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Ukraine in Egypt and other relevant agencies are now taking active measures to evacuate Ukrainians who have found themselves in the war zone. In particular, a list of persons who have expressed a desire has been created to leave the country, logistical routes and security aspects are being worked out," the MFA representative wrote.
According to him, the Ukrainian side also maintains contact with international partners.
"We will be able to provide more details about the evacuation as soon as it is safe for citizens," said the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also provided a list of contacts for providing consular assistance to Ukrainians in Sudan.
Due to the worsening security situation in Khartoum, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine advises Ukrainians to refrain from traveling to Sudan.
