The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls on the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to pay attention to the video showing the brutal punishment of a Ukrainian prisoner by the Russian military.

This is stated in the published statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

"The killing of a Ukrainian prisoner captured on video is a serious violation of the Geneva Conventions and a war crime in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court," the agency said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the Prosecutor's Office of the International Criminal Court to immediately pay attention to "another atrocity by the Russian military in the context of the investigation of war crimes committed by citizens of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine."

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, said that the new video with the brutal punishment of a Ukrainian prisoner emphasizes the need to exclude Russia from the UN Security Council and the organization as a whole.
