Today, on May 31, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Lyudmila Denysova from the post of the VR Commissioner for Human Rights. The relevant decision was voted for by 234 MPs.
It is reported Telegram-channel of the deputy from the "Voice" Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
"The Rada dismissed from the post of human rights ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova. Voted for - 234 deputies," wrote Zheleznyak.
According to him, the appointment of a new ombudsman did not take place today.
We shall remind you that today people's deputies expressed no confidence in the Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova by collecting the appropriate signatures in the Rada.
We should add that yesterday it became known that the Verkhovna Rada is collecting signatures for the dismissal of the Ombudsman Lyudmila Denysova.
Denysova herself explained that her dismissal was due to the fact that the Office of the President "is not satisfied with her activity as an ombudsman".
In the Rada, some MPs explain such an initiative by "incomprehensible concentration of media work on numerous details of 'sexual crimes committed in an unnatural way' and 'rape of children' in the occupied territories, which could not be confirmed by evidence".
