The United States government may consider deploying its military forces in Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion. This was reported with reference to US President Joe Biden in an interview with Time.


Biden noted that the use of military force by the United States cannot be ruled out. At the same time, he noted that there is a difference between the deployment of troops on the ground, air and sea forces.


The US President emphasized that such a decision would depend on the circumstances. At the same time, he emphasized that the United States continues to pursue a policy of not assuming Taiwan's independence and not defending its territorial status in case of China's attempts to change it.


Biden also noted that the United States continues to consult with its allies in the region.
