The Oktyabrsky District Court of Poltava is considering a case on the seizure of documents of district military medical commissions in Poltava region on suspicion of bribery. This was reported by the NACP.
The seizure was the result of an investigation into the activities of the MMCs, as the largest number of conscripts who were found unfit to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine were found in Poltava region.
According to the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, the seizure of the property of the MMC was carried out in order to preserve evidence in criminal proceedings.
It is suspected that the staff of the Military Medical Commission may have received bribes for recognizing persons as partially fit or unfit for military service.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway to establish the facts of unreliable medical documentation, to identify falsification of the grounds for assigning articles of the schedule of diseases and physical disabilities that determine the degree of fitness for military service.
According to the agency, the highest percentage of cases of being declared unfit for service in the Armed Forces was found in Poltava region - 20%.
