Ukraine is expecting a rapid rise in fuel prices. This is reported by Naftorynok.

Thus, in May 2024, the Verkhovna Rada registered draft Law No. 11256, which provides for an increase in taxes on excise goods in Ukraine. It provides, in particular, for a five-step increase in the excise tax on fuel by 2028. This will lead to a significant increase in fuel prices.

The law stipulates that the excise tax rate for gasoline will increase to €359 per 1000 liters (+68.1%), for diesel fuel - to €330 per 1000 liters (2.36 times), and for propane-butane (LPG, autogas) - to €277.00 per 1000 liters (5.32 times).

“According to the schedule of the proposed changes, under the current market conditions, a rapid increase in the cost of fuel for consumers (industry and individuals at gas stations) is planned as early as July 1, 2024. In particular, gasoline will become more expensive by UAH 1.5/l, diesel fuel - by UAH 2.0/l,” the publication's analysts write.
