At night, an explosion occurred in the premises of one of the banks in the center of Chernihiv. This was reported by the regional police on May 6.
Law enforcement received the call at around 4 am. After the explosion, the building caught fire and was heavily damaged. There were no injuries, the police said.
Rescuers, explosive experts and investigators are at the scene. The Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations included data under Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional destruction or damage to property by explosion).
The Department of the State Emergency Service in the region published photos of the consequences of the explosion.
Rescuers said that it destroyed the building's structures, with subsequent burning on the area of 140 m². Three cars parked nearby were also damaged.
