The Cabinet of Ministers changed the rules of border crossing for students (UPDATED)

At a meeting on Tuesday, April 2, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted changes to the way bachelor's students cross the state border. MP Oleksiy Honcharenko wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

According to him, from now on, bachelor students aged 18 to 22 who study at universities in Ukraine will be able to go abroad for internships. We are talking about masters of medicine, pharmacy and veterinary medicine.

Since the beginning of martial law in Ukraine, the rules for crossing the border have changed. In particular, we are talking about conscript men aged 18 to 60, who are not allowed to leave Ukraine.

However, the position of the State Border Guard Service regarding the departure of male students remains unchanged. This is because the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution No. 57 of January 27, 1995, prohibits the departure of undergraduate and graduate students, interns, and doctoral students of both foreign and Ukrainian universities, and such students or graduate students are not allowed to travel abroad.

As noted by the Ministry of Education, certain documents are required to cross the border.

Documents required to cross the border:

  • referral from the university;
  • a certified copy of the agreement with a foreign university on admission to the academic mobility program;

The Ministry of Education and Science will not issue any special permits.

"This decision will contribute to Ukraine's integration into the European higher education area, restore the opportunity for all students to participate in academic mobility programs, which will allow them to gain new knowledge and experience," the ministry said.

Now this rule will be changed.
