White House demands that Speaker Johnson bring to a vote the aid bill for Ukraine approved by the Senate

The White House demands that House Speaker Mike Johnson put to a vote the document on support for Ukraine approved by the Senate. This was announced by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre during a briefing.

"We have been very clear. We believe that the Speaker should introduce a bill with additional funding for national security needs, which obviously includes support for Ukraine, humanitarian aid, support for Israel and the Indo-Pacific region," the press secretary said.

According to her, she was referring to the US aid bill for Ukraine, which was supported by 70 senators in February. It provides more than $60 billion for Ukraine. She also believes that if this bill is put to a vote, the majority of representatives of both parties will support it.

At the same time, she refused to make an assessment of whether US President Joe Biden is ready to sign the Republican version of the aid package, which Speaker Johnson talked about.
