In January-October 2023, Georgia imported 56 tons of condoms (vulcanized rubber contraceptives) worth $2.3 million, the Georgian "Komersant" reports, citing the National Statistics Service.


Most of the condoms came to Georgia from Russia - 20 tons worth $1.6 million.


In January-October, 11 tons of condoms worth $947,050 were exported from Georgia - 7 tons to Armenia and 4 tons to Belarus.


During the same period in 2022, Georgia received 50 tons of condoms worth $2.1 million. The main importers were Russia, Germany, Latvia, Kazakhstan, and India.


Over the past 10 years, condom imports have increased by 157%. In 2013, Georgia imported 41 tons of vulcanized rubber contraceptives worth $899,420.
