The European Commission has responded to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's statement that "the European Commission's proposal for Ukraine's accession to the EU is unfounded." They disagree with his words, calling the work done by Ukraine "impressive."
It is noted that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced his own attitude to Ukraine's accession to the EU on Twitter.
It is clear that the proposal of the @EU_Commission on Ukraine’s EU accession is unfounded and poorly prepared. There is no place for it on the agenda of the December #EUCO ! pic.twitter.com/4uRFP4nEhx

"As you can imagine, we (the European Commission - ed.) are following our recommendation and proposal. No, we don't think it is unfounded," stated Anna Pizonero, a representative of the European Commission.
According to her, Ukraine has done "an impressive job in terms of speed and retention," and this has been emphasized by the President (Ursula von der Leyen - ed.) many times.
"Obviously, now the EU countries will need to make all the decisions on our enlargement package," added the EC representative, Anna Pizonero.
