Public and political organizations have called on the Armenian authorities to begin the process of withdrawing from organizations associated with Russia and apply for membership in the European Union. This was reported by the "European Pravda" publication.


The authors of the call condemned the threats posed by Russia and Azerbaijan to Armenia's independence and territorial integrity and called on the Armenian authorities to withdraw from the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Commonwealth of Independent States.


The organizations and individuals also called on the Armenian authorities to ratify the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court without reservation.


The statement also calls on Armenia to terminate all military and economic agreements with Russia, and to ban the broadcasting of Russian state-owned and state-affiliated TV channels.


The call also includes applying to the European Union for full membership, signing bilateral strategic partnership agreements with EU member states, the United States, Canada, India and other democratic countries of the United West, and initiating steps to deepen military and military-technical cooperation with Western and Euro-Atlantic countries.
