Turkey may ratify Sweden's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance. The discussion will take place in the middle of next month. The new chairman of The Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Ben Cardin, told Reuters.


It is noted that Cardin discussed Sweden's membership in NATO with Turkish officials at a meeting of NATO ambassadors.


"They claim that this will be done in the first half of next month... If that is true, then at least the NATO issue is resolved, but there are other issues besides NATO membership that should be part of our discussions moving forward," he said.
