US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken held a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. One of the topics of the negotiations was the support of Ukraine in the war with Russia.
This was reported by the press service of the US State Department.
The department notes that during the negotiations, Blinken assured of providing all the necessary assistance to Turkey after the earthquakes and expressed his condolences to all the people who suffered due to the cataclysm.
"They also discussed supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression and emphasized the need for closer work on bilateral issues, including defense, energy, trade and collective security," the State Department added.
It will be recalled that earlier the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, emphasized that his country did not sell goods to Russia that could be used for war.
