The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, had a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

 

 This was announced by the office of the Turkish president.

 

 During the conversation, humanitarian and energy support to Ukraine from Turkey was discussed, as well as the functioning of the grain corridor, the office noted.

 

 "President Erdoğan said that Turkey is ready to take on the role of facilitator and mediator for establishing a lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine," the published message reads.

 

 Erdogan also announced that the work on the exchange of prisoners continues and expressed his readiness to make a "diplomatic contribution to the acceleration of the process taking place at the Zaporizhzhуа nuclear power plant."

 

 On January 16, Erdogan had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which he once again repeated his offer to mediate between Ukraine and Russia.

 

 In addition, according to the Turkish side, Erdogan and Putin discussed the "grain corridor" and the supply of ammonia, as well as a project to send Russian grain to African countries after it is ground into flour in Turkey.
