The negotiation process with Russia is disadvantageous for both Ukraine and Europe, as a temporary truce will mean the next stage of the war after a certain time.
Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, emphasized this in an interview with Bild.
"The negotiation process today will record a temporary truce in a war that will not be finished. Accordingly, the Russian Federation will recognize this as a victory and will continue to claim to advance its expansionist policy. Therefore, the truce will only mean the next stage of the war after a certain time," he noted. .
Podolyak believes that in the event of such an incomplete end to the war, many Ukrainians will not risk returning to the country and investments will not come.
"This will be an "increasing gray zone" that will constantly put pressure on Europe. Europe will be forced to constantly invest large amounts of money here to maintain this territory in a viable state. This is not beneficial for Europe in the medium and long term," said the adviser to the head of the OP.
He is convinced that the negotiation process is still not profitable for the EU countries, as it will provoke Russia to more daring behavior in economic, political and diplomatic terms.
Podolyak emphasized that negotiations with Russia can be started only when there is an accident of the last hope of the Russian Federation to press Ukraine by military means.
"Only after Russia realizes that it will no longer be able to wage war," he concluded.
We will remind, according to Reuters, the Kremlin hopes that the energy crisis in Europe and the winter cold will force EU leaders to put pressure on Ukraine to start negotiations with Russia.
At the same time, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson believes that now is not the time for Ukraine to start negotiations with Russia, since the authorities of the aggressor country only want to attack and take the lives of Ukrainians.
