The war will not erase a century of Ukrainian statehood and 31 years of independence - Blinken

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced US support for Ukraine on its Independence Day.

 

 "Six months of war cannot and will not erase the century of Ukrainian statehood and 31 years of independence. Today, together with all Ukrainians, we celebrate Independence Day. Today and always we support Ukraine," Blinken wrote on Twitter.

 

 The State Secretary added that before six months of brutal violence and destruction in Ukraine by the Russian government, Ukrainians are fighting courageously and with conviction.

 

 "They are protecting their unique heritage and protecting their democratic government from tyranny," Blinken emphasized.
