The U.S. will leave an aircraft carrier off the coast of Taiwan to monitor China's exercises with new missile launches

The Pentagon has decided to leave the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan off the coast of Taiwan for an indefinite period of time to monitor the situation due to military exercises of China.

This is reported by Politico.

The White House said it had no intention of exacerbating the situation around Taiwan, but it was not planning to leave Taiwan's waters just yet.

Beijing responded to a visit by U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan by starting exercises with live fire, missile launches and warship maneuvers around the island.

Earlier it became known that China is conducting military exercises around Taiwan using advanced weapons, in particular, hypersonic missiles DF-17 and stealth fighters J-20.
