ICC prosecutor talks about pressure from politicians over Netanyahu's arrest warrant

ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan is being threatened by politicians from different countries in connection with the arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said this in an interview with CNN.

“Of course, this situation, unfortunately, lies at the crossroads of international politics and strategic interests. And, of course, some elected leaders have spoken to me very... you know, very directly. “This court was created for Africa and for thugs like Putin,” one senior leader told me. We don't think so,” Khan said in an interview with CNN.

He added that the ICC “will not be convinced by threats or any other actions.”

As a reminder, the Western establishment's reaction to the ICC's actions was mixed. The US Congress began threatening the ICC with sanctions if the warrant is issued. However, EU diplomat Josep Borrell called on all countries to comply with the court's decision.
