About 1,000 children with disabilities, orphans and people with disabilities were evacuated from Kiev to Poland on Saturday, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitaly Klitschko, said.
"The city continues to evacuate children with disabilities, orphans, children in difficult circumstances and people with disabilities. Yesterday an evacuation flight to Poland sent about 1,000 Kiev residents of such categories. Among them - and about 200 children with disabilities, 32 of whom move in wheelchairs, "- Klitschko wrote in a telegram on Sunday.
He noted that the trip was organized by the city government together with the "Save Ukraine" Center for Mutual Aid.
"In total, these days such joint evacuation flights have already sent more than 3,000 people to Europe," Klitschko concluded.
