Vadym Sukharevskyi has been appointed Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the AFU

Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi has been appointed Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.


According to the General Staff, Sukharevskyi was appointed in accordance with the order of Defense Minister Rustem Umerov of June 10.

 

 

Prior to that, he served as Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he was responsible for unmanned systems and the development of drone use.


Sukharevskyi has been involved in the Russian-Ukrainian war since 2014. He took part in his first battle on April 13 near Semenivka, Donetsk region. He opened fire from his APC at Igor Strelkov-Girkin's group.


In June 2022, he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
