European Commission allows Ukraine to certify Nord Stream-2 (video)

Ukraine will participate in the certification of the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream-2. This was stated by Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko at a briefing in Brussels on January 20, reports Fokus.

"It has been decided that Ukraine will be invited to the certification of the Nord Stream-2, when this issue reaches the European Commission. This is the official position that we heard today, for which I am grateful to our partners," Galushchenko said.

Also in Brussels they discussed the issue of gas shortages in Europe and high gas prices. The topic of Gazprom's dangerous monopoly and Russia's actions on the gas market was also raised.

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said she was ready to consider measures against Nord Stream-2 in case Russia invades Ukraine.

Recall that at the end of last year in the United States Republican Senator Ted Cruz unblocked the issue of imposing sanctions against the Russian gas pipeline "Nord Stream-2".

At the time, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 29 that Nord Stream-2 is ready for operation.

For now, certification of the pipeline has been delayed because the NSP2 project has not been finalized in terms of European legislation, and Moscow has begun to rectify this by building subsidiaries.
