Russian offensive in Kharkiv region extends active front line by 70 km to draw back AFU reserves, - Syrskyi

During the offensive in Kharkiv region, Russian troops expanded the area of active hostilities by almost 70 kilometers to force the Ukrainian Armed Forces to use additional reserves. This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to him, the Russians have focused their main efforts on the direction of Strileche - Liptsi and the capture of Vovchansk in Kharkiv region, trying to reach Bili Krynychky and launch an offensive in the rear of Ukrainian troops.

Syrskyi said that a breakthrough was prevented, but “there will be tough battles ahead.”

“The enemy launched an offensive much earlier than planned when they noticed our troops being redeployed, but they failed to break through our defense. However, we understand that there will be heavy fighting ahead, and the enemy is preparing for it,” the chief noted.

The head also said that he had also visited Sumy region, where a Russian offensive is also expected.
