OSCE Chairman Linde and EU diplomatic chief Borrell discussed the situation in Ukraine

The head of diplomacy of the European Union Josep Borrell and OSCE Chairman Anne Linde held talks, during which they discussed the security situation in Eastern Europe, and in particular in Ukraine. About this Borrel wrote in his Twitter, writes UNN.

"Discussed with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office the security situation in Eastern Europe. Any real discussion on security in Europe must be developed and strengthened", - wrote Borrel.

For her part, Anne Linde wrote that during the talks, the leaders confirmed their willingness to use the OSCE as a platform for dialogue to de-escalate the situation.

"Had a good conversation with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel about the events in and around Ukraine. Discussed the importance of respecting the European security order and confirmed the willingness to use the OSCE as a platform for dialogue to de-escalate the situation," Linde wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said that Europe's security was currently under threat. He noted that the European Union is fully committed to security in Europe, based on the key principles of non-aggression and respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Therefore, the NATO proposal to hold a NATO-Russia Council in response to the draft treaties on European security published by Russia last week is an important step.

Earlier, Borrell stated that the EU should be part of the talks proposed by Russia on legal guarantees of security in the Euro-Atlantic region.
