European initiative with Russian assets: assessment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, expressed his position on the European Union's decision to use frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine.

He pointed out that the process of using these assets has three stages, the last of which is full confiscation.

According to Kuleba, at the beginning of the year, he noted that the process of frozen assets consists of three stages.

The first was the adoption of a decision on the taxation of interest from these assets. The second stage is the distribution of this interest.

Pointing to the publication of his Czech counterpart, Kuleba noted that the total value of frozen assets is about 260 billion euros.

The third step, which was mentioned at the beginning of the year, is the confiscation of the capital itself.

Although Kuleba understands Germany's concerns, he believes it is necessary to find a solution to the problem, as Russia must answer for its aggression.

Earlier, we reported that the EU Council adopted a number of legislative acts to ensure that the profits from Russia's frozen assets will be used to support Ukraine.
