The conscript died of an epileptic seizure on the way to the training center. Dmytro Lubinets, the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, said that the deceased was found fit for military service.


The Zakarpattia TCC reported that the conscript had a seizure during transportation. The escort officer provided the man with first aid and called an ambulance, but they did not arrive in time.


For his part, the ombudsman said that according to the certificate of the military medical commission, the deceased Ukrainian was recognized as fit for military service. 


"I have opened proceedings regarding the alleged violation of human rights. This situation will be under my personal control. Also, my representatives in Zakarpattia and Lviv regions will work to find out all the circumstances," the ombudsman said.


It is not specified whether the man was mobilized and under what circumstances.
