Hungary invented an obstacle for the meeting between Zelensky and Orban

The meeting between Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will not take place until Kyiv "returns the rights" to the Hungarian national community. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijarto.

He said that the Ukrainian response to Budapest's 11 demands regarding the rights of Hungarians in Zakarpattia was allegedly "unconstructive."

The minister emphasized that during a meeting in Uzhhorod, he told Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and the head of Zelensky's office, Andriy Yermak, that Hungary expects the Hungarian minority in Zakarpattia to be restored the rights it had before 2015.

Budapest decided to provide Kyiv with an 11-point document on what decisions the Ukrainian side should make.

"The response document received from the Ukrainian side does not contain any progress in this area," Szijarto said.
