Substation was damaged in Kryvyi Rih: part of the city was left without electricity (UPDATED)

A drone attack by Russia on the night of February 2 damaged one of Ukrenergo's substations in Kryvyi Rih. The company's press service reported that part of the city was left without electricity.


"Unfortunately, there is damage to one of the substations of NPC Ukrenergo. In the city of Kryvyi Rih, household and industrial consumers are without power," the statement said.


It is noted that the specialists of Ukrenergo and State Emergency Service are inspecting the equipment, after which emergency repair work will begin immediately.


Local resources reported that power was cut off in some areas of Kryvyi Rih at around 02:30.


The head of Kryvyi Rih's military administration, Oleksandr Vilkul, said that the enemy attack left approximately 100,000 subscribers in Saksahansk, Dovhynets and Pokrovskyi districts of the city without electricity, including some hospitals, kindergartens and schools, a light rail line, a city tram and a trolleybus.


It was also reported that the power outage left more than 100 night shift miners of two mines underground. All miners have now been brought to the surface.

In Kryvyi Rih, electricity has been fully restored to all consumers after arriving at the substation, the Ministry of Energy reports. The mine and boiler house are also powered.
