On the night of June 7, Russians attacked Ukrainian regions with Shahed drones and air-launched cruise missiles. Air defense forces shot down 53 air targets. This was reported by the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk.
According to him, the enemy attacked Ukraine from strategic aviation - Tu-95MS bombers from the airspace of Saratov region and attack drones from the Russian cities of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeysk and Kursk, as well as Cape Chauda in Crimea.
A total of five cruise missiles and 53 drones were used. As a result of the air battle, 53 air targets were shot down in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Khmelnytskyi regions: 48 Shahed-131/136 attack drones; five X-101/X-555 cruise missiles.
Oleshchuk noted that the air attack was repelled by mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces, fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile and electronic warfare units.
