On the night of June 5, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones. The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down 22 of the 27 drones launched. This was announced by Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.
“On the night of June 5, 2024, the occupiers attacked with 27 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs from the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Cape Chauda - Crimea,” he said.
Anti-aircraft missile and electronic warfare units of the Air Force and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
“As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 22 Shaheds were shot down in Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Poltava regions,” Oleshchuk added.
Drones hit an industrial facility in Poltava region. This was reported by the head of the Poltava RMA, Pylyp Pronin.
“An industrial facility was hit in the region. One person was injured, but he refused to be hospitalized,” he said in a statement.
