Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will lift veto on providing 50 billion euros in aid to Ukraine. The EU has already received a "positive signal" on this issue. This was stated by Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen in an interview with RND.
"I am very confident that Hungary will lift the blockade. Foreign Minister Szijarto (Peter - Hungarian Foreign Minister - ed.) gave us a positive signal, and I really hope that we will finally be able to make a decision on aid to Ukraine," she stated.
If not, then, according to her, "we will find another solution." "At the same time, we ourselves must invest more in our security," stated Valtonen.
According to the minister, Europe should develop a reliable strategy for its own defense and deterrence.
"We must strengthen our own defense industry, and both small and large defense companies should be able to make large investments now. Russia understands only force. We need a credible deterrence strategy both at the European level and at the NATO level. We are still very far from reaching that point. We still need to do much, much more. And this is regardless of how the US elections go," the Finnish Foreign Minister stated.
