Germany will discuss the possibility of strikes with German weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation. This was stated by Defense Minister Boris Pistorius during a briefing with Rustem Umerov in Odesa.
“Scholz has recently said clearly that it can be used within the framework of international law. This is what we will consider. Bilateral treaties are not meant to be discussed publicly, or to draw any “red lines” as to what is tolerated and what is not,” Pistorius said.
At the same time, as is known, Scholz does not give permission for the supply of German long-range missiles to Ukraine.
In addition, Pistorius announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 500 million euros.
The head of the German Defense Ministry said that the package will include a “large number” of missiles for the IRIS-T medium-range air defense system and the shorter-range SLS, as well as drones for reconnaissance and combat in the Black Sea, and the necessary spare parts for artillery systems and replacement engines for Leopard battle tanks. In addition, Ukraine will receive one million rounds of ammunition for small arms.
Germany will also provide Marder infantry fighting vehicles, armored fighting vehicles, anti-aircraft tanks, and electronic warfare equipment.
