Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has warned that "time is running out" for Congress to pass a new funding deal to increase military aid to Ukraine, adding that even if weapons run out, Ukrainians will "fight with shovels." Kuleba said this in an interview with ABC News.
Kuleba added that more funding could help avoid a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia, but also expressed concern that insufficient funds could lead to the intervention of US troops.
Responding to pressure for possible talks with Russia, Kuleba ruled out such talks with the Putin regime until Ukraine is in a much stronger position on the battlefield.
Regarding the military operations, Kuleba acknowledged that Russian troops have become more skilled, but predicted "more defeats" for Russia this year. He also rejected the idea of Russia's superiority on the battlefield, calling it "an extremely high price."
Regarding the attacks on Russia in recent weeks, Kuleba did not comment directly, but noted that Ukraine is trying to show that the war is having a negative impact on Russia. He called on President Putin to explain the reasons for the conflict to his people and acknowledged that information outside of TVs can be "worse than propaganda."
