Progress in cooperation: NATO plans to step up its role in military supplies to Ukraine

Currently, NATO foreign ministers have not yet made a final decision on delegating a coordinating role to the Alliance in providing military aid to Ukraine. However, according to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, significant progress was made at an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Prague.

“No final decisions were made today, but we made significant progress on three issues. First, NATO plans to play a more active coordinating role in providing equipment and training,” the Secretary General said following an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Prague.

The Secretary General noted that almost 99 percent of military aid to Ukraine comes from NATO member states, which makes it logical for NATO to participate in coordinating this process.

Earlier, we reported that NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg intends to ask the allies to allocate about 40 billion euros a year for military aid to Ukraine.
