The CEO of Kyivstar mobile operator Oleksandr Komarov said that the terms of the resumption of the operator's services are unclear. He said this in a video message.


"The war with Russia has many dimensions, and one of them is in cyberspace. Unfortunately, this morning Kyivstar became the target of a powerful hacker attack that temporarily disrupted communication services and Internet access. The timeline for restoring services is still unclear," the businessman said.


He added that the company is working to eliminate the consequences of the attack to restore communication as soon as possible.

Kyivstar mobile operator is currently working on the timing of the restoration of communications and services after a large-scale outage on December 12 caused by a hacker attack. Kyivstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov said this during a national telethon broadcast on YouTube by the Rada channel.

"Kyivstar has not yet announced any terms in fact. A very strong hacker attack on the company's virtual infrastructure. The IT infrastructure was partially destroyed. That is why we are still working out how long it will take to recover. Therefore, we have not yet made any statements," he said.


According to the company's CEO, the war with Russia "has many dimensions, and one of them is in cyberspace." He emphasized that the operator has engaged representatives of law enforcement agencies and special services to investigate the circumstances and consequences of the illegal actions of interference in the network.


"Kyivstar will compensate the subscribers who had no connection or could not use the services of the operator. We apologize to our subscribers for the inconvenience and thank them for their understanding and support," Komarov added.
