Ukraine has chosen the legal route to resolve the situation around the ban on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a conversation with Ukrainian journalists in Washington, Freedom reports.
The President noted that with all due respect to the Poles, he must protect Ukrainian interests.
"Several months of economic losses have been calculated - hundreds of millions. But relations between our countries are more valuable than those months. Only Ukraine suffered from this blockade, no one else," he said.
Yes, the countries had agreements with a specific date. Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania were supposed to lift the ban on imports of Ukrainian grain on September 15.
"There was such an agreement. And everyone realized that if there was a blockade after that date, Ukraine would choose the legal process. This is not news. There is no need to make a political concert. This is a civilized decision to ensure that Ukrainians receive purely economic compensation," Zelensky added.
