Ukraine receives a modern mobile field hospital from Rheinmetall

German company Rheinmetall has announced the transfer of an innovative mobile field hospital to Ukraine. This was reported on the company's website.

A year ago, the German Ministry of Defense signed a contract with Rheinmetall Mobile Systeme GmbH, a subsidiary of Rheinmetall Group, or RMS, for the hospital, related equipment support and staff training. The order is worth about EUR 9 million.

The field hospital has 32 beds, including eight intensive care beds. It has an operating room fully equipped with sterilization systems, an X-ray, a tomograph, a laboratory, a pharmacy and a recreation area for medical staff.

Two highly mobile medical support facilities are also scheduled for delivery in late 2023 and early 2024.

In addition, Rheinmetall is providing transportation for these facilities. A total of 20 medical containers are being transported on ten trucks with trailers.

The mobile field hospital is an independent facility with its own generators, medicine production facilities, water supply systems and special decontamination mixture, and includes sanitary facilities and other necessary amenities.

This hospital can be easily transported and is ready for operation in Ukraine. It was designed for rapid deployment and can be reused.

"We have kept our word and provided the Ukrainian military with a large, first-class field hospital in an extremely short time. Our company and our partners have demonstrated their commitment to this project. We never forgot how important a quick transfer is. I hope this system will save many lives in Ukraine. We are proud to support Ukraine," said Hauke Bindzusa, director of RMS.
