Lithuania has signed a protocol of intent with the German company Rheinmetall on the construction of an ammunition production plant in the Baltic country. This was reported by Reuters.
Lithuanian Economy Minister Aušrinė Armonaitė said that the plant would be one of the largest investments made in the Baltic country. Now negotiations will be held to conclude a detailed investment agreement.
"We are attracting investments that will bring profit and help us to ensure independence in arms procurement," she said.
