The Lithuanian government has decided to allocate 5 million euros for the restoration of destroyed schools and kindergartens in Ukraine. This information was provided by the press service of the Lithuanian government with reference to the Ministry of Finance.
According to this decision, the funds will be used to install bomb shelters and other necessary equipment to ensure safety in educational institutions. The money will be transferred to the account of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine at the National Bank of Ukraine.
The Minister of Finance of Lithuania, Gintarė Skaistė, emphasized the importance of this step in the context of the war waged by Russia against Ukraine.
She noted that this assistance is an attempt to preserve the hope of Ukrainians for the future, especially important in a time of war when children's education must continue despite constant threats.
